Virginia Beach, Va. – In the base floor of the Ramada Inn on the Oceanfront resides a gem among stones. This is Mahi Mah’s, a seafood restaurant that is much more exquisite than one would think from the outside. Continually rated as the best in the beach, Mahi Mah’s updates their menus twice a year and continues to grow their marketing arsenal with merchandise, local’s cards and an interactive band schedule. This is a great example of a website I’ve done that has lasted the test of time, and still looks fresh after seven years online.
There was also a second version of the Mahi Mah’s website, created seven years after the first. The homepage is comprised of hot spots for the most viewed sections of the website, creating easy access to the content. Once inside, the user has the ability to switch between each section just as easily. Since the entire interface was engineered in flash, I bridged the presentation of non-flash content such as popups and downloadable PDFs to appear seamless to the user. The bold, warm color palette was chosen to best represent Mahi Mah’s eclectic combination of food and entertainment, using the color white only as a garnishment.
